Fire Hoses

Code and Maintenance Requirements

Fire hoses should be maintained in operable condition at all times. They are required to be inspected annually per NFPA-1962 standards and a record is kept on a tag fastened near the female end of the hose. Additionally, pressure testing is required every 3 or 5 years depending upon the age of the hose. Pressure testing should only be performed by a contractor who has a clean, inclined facility designed per the NFPA-1962 specifications, not in a parking lot or bare warehouse floor where the hose would be subject to damage and improper test methods. Don't hesitate to contact our office for more information on the maintenance requirements of your specific equipment.
